Mortality Atlas for Andalusian Capital Cities

The goal of the Mortality Atlas for Andalusian Capital Cities (AMCA) is to describe the geographical distribution of male and female mortality in the various census groups in Andalusian capital cities for the most frequent causes of death.
One of the outcomes of this research is the “1992-2002 Mortality Atlas for Andalusian Capital Cities”. Professionals interested in receiving a free copy of this study may place their request with the Publications Division of the Andalusian School for Public Health or via the contact link on this web site.
Part of the contents may be consulted on-line, clicking on here.
Health, demographic and socio-economic indicators obtained from the censuses studied within AMCA were introduced in an interactive Geographical Information System.

Important Note: Mortality Atlases are ecological studies based on aggregate data from geographical areas. So maps should be interpreted with caution. If a given municipality shows a higher mortality rate compared to another, this does not mean that its residents are at greater risk of death. The mortality rate for a given geographical area may differ from that of any other for a variety of reasons, including possible errors in estimating the number of inhabitants, or errors in entries on death certificates when indicating place of residence or address.
